InterChange Business Center, Building B is strategically located near the interchange of I-215 and future I-210 in the heart of the dynamic Inland Empire market.  Six buildings, totaling 2,052,332 square feet of warehouse/distribution facilities were constructed in this project (Buildings A, B, C, D1, D2 and E).

Hillwood received the USGBC LEED® Silver certification in 2009 for five buildings (Buildings A, C, D1, D2 and E) at the former brownfield. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating System for Core and Shell Development (LEED-CS) is a set of performance criteria for certifying the sustainable design and construction of speculative and core and shell buildings.  It has been developed as part of the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) on-going effort to provide a national standard for what constitutes a "green building" and to assist in the creation of high performance, healthful, durable, affordable and environmentally sound buildings.

The green building features on Buildings A, C, D1, D2 and E include indoor water-efficient fixtures, a tenant energy sub-metering program, recycled-content building materials, and widespread use of skylights to provide daylighting for employee comfort and to reduce energy costs.

Sustainable Components At InterChange Business Center

1.   Put idle bomb plant brownfields site back to productive use, creating local jobs.

2.   98 percent of construction waste, over 27,000 tons, was diverted from landfilling, including a large amount of existing hardscape that was recycled as base material for new roads and parking and building slab construction.

3.  84 percent more on-site open space, almost 23 acres, than required by development standards is included.

4.   43 percent of materials used in construction were locally extracted and manufactured.

5.   Irrigation water use was reduced by 52 percent and indoor water use by 43 percent, resulting in a total annual water savings of over 5 million gallons.

6.   96 percent of the interior areas of the buildings receive daylight.

7.   99 percent of the interior areas have views to the outside.
